WHAT WE THINK!
Seen as one of the largest festivals on the British festival calendar, Glastonbury has been running since 1970, organised by Michael Eavis, now with the help of his daughter Emily Eavis.
Glastonbury attracts many large and upcoming bands and there are very few bands that can say that they haven't played at Glastonbury.
In the early years, bands like The Who, The Kinks, Van Morrison and The Cure headlined the festival, while in more recent years, the headliners have included Arctic Monkeys, U2, Muse, Oasis, Radiohead and Jay-Z.
Jay-Z's appearance as headliner angered many 'traditionalists' of the festival, including Noel Gallagher. To counter this, Jay-Z opened his set with Oasis' Wonderwall and strummed a Union Jack guitar similar to one that Gallagher played while in Oasis, eventually winning over the audience.
The 2011 headliners are U2, Colplay and Jay-Z's wife, Beyonce.
