Although the Golden Globes are generally considered to be an indicator of how the Oscars will pan out, the event is still prestigious in its own right (it's presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association so you won't find a 'Best Onscreen Kiss' category). It's rarely thrown up any big surprises, which means that the likes of Helen Mirren and Kate Winslet already have a mantlepiece full of gongs - and nor are you likely to come across scandal; any celebs caught misbehaving would have their Oscar invite whisked away quicker than than the amount of time it would take to count Megan Fox's award nominations.
