WHAT WE THINK!
The X Factor is the UK's biggest singing competition - 2010 saw series 7 with Matt Cardle winning.
Since Simon Cowell took his X Factor (and Cheryl Cole, for a short while) with him to the US of A to make loads more money, he has left the judging of the UK version to Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos, Kelly Rowland and long-standing judge/Simon Cowell minion Louis Walsh.
The judges narrow 100,000+ applicants down to a final 12 who compete over 11 weeks to win a £1m recording contract.
Past UK winners include flops like Leon Jackson, Steve Brookstein and Joe McElderry well as international successes like Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke.
Other famous acts that took part in X Factor but didn't win and subsequently going on to have success include JLS, Jedward (sort of), Diana Vickers, Olly Murs and Stacey Solomon
