MTV EMAs 2011 winners: Gaga wins it all, Hayden Panettiere gets small runner-up prize

The Euro's fucked - everyone knows that. Out of the 14 categories at the MTV European Music Awards, only one European act won a prize - Queen. We think that's probably just because Lady Gaga recently announced plans to join them as lead singer, though. Along with 30 Seconds to Mars, Linkin Park, Eminem, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Bruno Mars, our special friends then also proceeded to win everything else.

Chris Martin talks about his friendship with Jay-Z, says he doesn't understand it

Or at least that's how white man Chris Martin paints it. Apparently him and Jay Zed are the bestest of pals, even though he hasn't the foggiest idea how it happened. Bit rude of him to call Jay a nerd, though. Doesn't really fit in with the otherwise positive spirit of their multi-racial relationship. Classic white man, ruining it for everyone else. An album review we probably should've put a bit more work into

Do we like Coldplay enough to listen to the whole of new album Mylo Xyloto?

1. Mylo Xyloto – Horrible title. Nice bit of intro music.

2. Hurts Like Heaven – Stupid title. Really good song.

3. Paradise – Unoriginal title. Quite a good song.

4. Charlie Brown – Good Peanuts character. Ok song, but we feel the Coldplayness creeping back in.

5. Us Against The World – Did Gary Barlow write this title? Boring and pompous. Our hands have formed into fists.

6. M.I.M.X. – Coldplay really are shit at song names, aren’t they? Boring bit of intro music.

Coach hold a dinner party to honour Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris Martin gets invite

Despite her latest film premiering in New York last night, the actress chose to spend her evening at The Arts Club in London, where Coach were holding a dinner in her honour. We bet there was a lovely toast, Gwynnie makes marvellous toast - she drizzles truffle oil over organic spelt bread and grills it over charcoal.

All the pics from The Big Chill and Lollapalooza: Coldplay, Muse and Kanye flipping West

So, Kanye West spent his Saturday strolling around Herefordshire - that doesn't happen very often, does it?

He performed at The Big Chill on Saturday night, and although we've not seen any footage yet - just two measly photos of the man - we're going to go out there and take a guess that it was seriously amazing. Better than Taylor Swift anyway, that's for sure. In fact, it could even have been one of the best performances of all time. Those Kanye jokes are out of date now, aren't they? Oh well.

Coldplay in not actually rubbish new song shocker

It’s not going to change the world, but once you’ve cleared the vomit from your mouth that arose when you read the title: Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall, you have to admit, this is a pomposity free, pleasantly spangly tune. Could do without the bits where he goes “ooh!” though. There’s no need for the bits where he goes “ooh!”.

It’s crying out for a banging Tony Lamezma remix, isn’t it?

Which is exactly why Chris Martin and Gwneth Paltrow have elected to have their kids home schooled by a polymath, and a really good one at that, none of that writing with both hands at the same time rubbish for them.

The advert they've placed asks for someone who speaks Ancient Greek, Latin, French and Spanish and can teach it to Geronimo and Hyacinth or whatever the children are called: (Via The Sun)

Simon Pegg and Chris Martin play secret gig at North London's fashionable Boogaloo

The pictures above are from a charity gig Chris Martin played in Boogaloo in Highgate (well, Archway Road, but apparently crime's not cool these days) in aid of John Parkhouse, a pub regular who recently passed away, halfway through which he was joined onstage by Simon Pegg for a rendition of Green Eyes, which is a Coldplay song.
