19-year-old Vickers has done surprisingly well out of the X Factor, especially compared to her rumoured boyfriend at the time, Eoghan Quigg who quickly fell into obscurity. Her strange hand gestures and bare feet on the X Factor are a distant memory and she is now a proper pop star. Her 2010 album, Songs from the Tainted Cherry Tree, reached number one, as did her debut single Once. Eoghan Quigg's debut single reached number 96. Her single My Wicked Heart became controversial when someone pointed out that the chorus sounded just like Under the Bridge by The Red Hot Chili Peppers.
