BGC charity day: Prince Harry, Kelly Brook, Boris Johnson, Cheeky Girls and Ronnie Wood

Still, this event by BGC International Stockbroking Global Stockbrokers is for charity, so it's all fine. Attended by Prince Harry, who apparently closed the world's largest foreign exchange deal while he was there, worth £15.5 billion, the event is in memory of all the Cantor Fitzgerald staff who died when a few naughty buggers kind of on purpose rammed two planes into their New York bureau back in 2001.

Skin and Bono: HM Pictures of the Day 1st September

So our Pics of the Day today is a contrast of fat to thin, think of it as art, but way less boring and you don't have old wankers drawing unnecessary meanings into it, it's just fat celebs and thin celebs for your eyes to enjoy.

To start we have Chaz Bono leaving Dancing with the Stars rehearsals, celebs usually justify the show as a chance to lose weight, not because their profile is suffering and the work is drying up.

Duffy Given Degree For Services To Music

So that’s - given a degree for services to music AFTER announcing she’d quit music.

We’ll run it by you again. Duffy announces she’s quitting music. University gives her an honorary qualification for services to music.

Again?

University hands over certificate that says Duffy has in some way performed a great service to the popular music of our time, in the clear and certain knowledge that said recipient intends not to make any more music.

We’re pretty sure there’s a joke here but we just can’t quite put our finger on it...

Performing Arts celebration: The Queen meets Goldie, scowls at Helen Mirren

Of course Kevin Bloody Spacey gets invited. Keeps himself to himself when anyone asks about his sexuality, but as soon as there's a party at SW1A he's popping his head in front of anyone with a camera. DOUBLE STANDARDS SPACEY, DOUBLE STANDARDS.

Joining Suspicious Spacey at the event to celebrate child labour/youth performing arts was Goldie, Duffy (performing is stretching it a bit), Michael 'Noah' Eavis, Ellie Goulding, semi-permanent Buckingham resident Jools Holland, Jamie Cullum, Joe 'Time's Up' McElderry, VV Brown and Sheila Hancock.

OK I'll level with you - I was offered these pictures and kind of misheard.

What I thought were going to be glamorous shots shots of 'Shirley Bassey-like' pop star Duffy tanning herself on the beach and surprising all those people who had her down as a beer swilling, potty mouthed short arse.

Instead what I got were shots of Duffy swilling beer like a potty mouthed short arse surprising all those who had her down as a glamourous pop star in the vein of Shirley Bassey.

You win some you lose some. It's just the way I roll.

Duffy is being lined up for next James Bond theme tune

According to The Sun, a Bond exec got hammered at the Ivor Novello Awards yesterday and decided either Duffy or Amy Winehouse should sing the song.

Now I'm no music producer, but even my cotton wool ears could tell him that a puppy in a blender would sound better than these two. Amy Winehouse attempted to record the tune to Quantum of Solace, but gave up because she was too hammered - and I'm seeing nothing to suggest she has sobered up for long enough to even brush her teeth.

But Duffy is the scariest prospect. Dear God that VOICE!
