Cult hero Oldman has a reputation for playing villains. Dracula, drug dealers and Pontius Pilot have all be portrayed by this 'actor's actor'. In 1997 he wrote, directed and produced Nil By Mouth, a misery-fest partly based on his own ch ildhood experiences of growing up on a council estate in south east London.
