Preview: This Is Jinsy - David Tennant guest stars in Sky Atlantic's new odd comedy

Set on the Island of Jinsy, it begins more like a series of surreal sketches than a typical sitcom. Pompous fusspot Arbiter Maven (Chubb) – all Art Garfunkel hair and preening self-righteousness – and his beige-suited sidekick Operative Sporall (Bran) keep a close watch on the island’s 791 residents, monitoring the array of oddballs through the two-way CCTV ‘Tessellator’ machines that appear at all corners of the island.

BAFTA TV Awards: TOWIE, Harry and Paul, The Killing and errrm, The News at Ten

Joining TOWIE on the winners' plinth (there may not be an actual plinth) were The Killing, a Danish crime series that is apparently one of the best things Mr HM has ever seen, Sherlock, with the wonderful Benedict Cumberfartinthebathbatch, comedy series Harry and Paul, which surprised Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse so much they didn't actually turn up, and The News at Ten, for not being a BBC programme.

British Comedy Awards pictures, better late than never

Outnumbered and TV Burp deservedly won most of the decent awards, with Peter Kay, Terry Wogan and Father Ted creator Graham Lineham getting all sorts of Outstanding Contribution for Services to Official Comedydom and stuff.

Frankie Boyle was the only person to really get a bit near the knuckle with his joke about sexual assault, apart from that it was all a bit, well, boring (for the viewers at least). Where were the fisting jokes?
