Heather Mills was a fairly unsuccessful model until, following a motorbike accident in 1993, her left leg was amputated below the knee. It is hard to unpick the story of her life because of her alleged tendency to lie, but it has involved raising both money and her public profile and marriage to and divorce from Paul McCartney.
