Classically-trained Simm is the gem of the current crop of young Brit actors. In the past ten years, he has mastered a body of demanding roles including Rashkalnikov in the BBC adaptation of Crime and Punishment and conflicted criminal Danny in the Lakes. It is amazing that he has not yet succumbed to the lure of Hollywood, preferring to take parts in the best quality drama that the UK has to offer. His most recent success was as Detective Inspector Sam Tyler in Life on Mars. With all this praise, we can safely draw a veil over his 90s indie band.
