With his drawling voice, simian posture and prickly attitude, Liam was probably the most distinctive figure of the Britpop years. He and Noel inspired thousands of copycats and it's still possible to spot an Oasis fan by the way they walk. The band had a new album, their seventh, out in 2008 and Liam wrote an unprecedented three of the songs himself. His songwriting has always been in the shadow of Noel's and if Little James, a song written for Patsy Kensit's son, is anything to go by, it's best that way. In 2009 Oasis split up and Liam has since started his own band, Beady Eye and launched a clothing line, Pretty Green.
