Madonna scores at the Super Bowl, M.I.A gives it the finger

Here she is opening with Vogue. Apparently she's a bit wobbly on foot because she pulled a hamstring not because she's 53. There's some debate over whether she lip synced... Meh. M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj also performed with the former giving it the finger on live TV, something NBC had to apologise for. As if there wasn't enough reason to yawn three hours into the game.

Madonna reveals new album track names, not exactly Bob Dylan

As if that wasn't almost too much excitement already, if you pre-order the album between now and Monday 6th you'll get a bonus remix too. Woo.

With tracks names like "Gang Bang," "B-day song" and "I don't give A" Madonna certainly seems to be confirming her status as one of the world's great lyricists, although it's as yet unclear as to whether the track "I Fucked Up" is an indication of the album's quality.

Come on, just have a look at what she said about Britney Spears to The Advocate recently, when they asked about Lady Gaga's connection to her fans:

Madonna explains why she made W.E., world still doesn't understand

Unfortunately, like any untreated condition, there was a real chance her bonkers-ness would only get worse if we just let it pass. Sadly it has, and now the Queen of Pop has found herself up her own bottom without a paddle. The voices are getting louder, but no-one else can hear. No-one.

Although having said that, even if she wasn't two bananas short of a fruit bowl, there's still a relatively small chance anyone would want to know why she made W.E.:

Only three days till you can be disappointed by the new Madonna single

Well that’s something to look forward to. If inevitable crushing disappointment is your thing.

No, you’re right. It might be ok. But the demo version that leaked a while back was distinctly underwhelming, so they’ll have had to do a fair amount of work to it. It’s got M.I.A. on it, in that way Madonna always has of being five years behind at being cutting edge. And it isn’t one of the songs produced by William Orbit – which is the one factor keeping our hopes for the MDNA album alive.

The week in fashion: HM style round-up, 27 January 2012

Facing the seemingly not actually that tough challenge of looking decent whilst surrounded by Parisians and $20,000 dresses, we have Cameron Diaz, Alice Dellal, Leigh Lezark, Bar Refaeli, Olivia Palermo, Diane Kruger as well as local girls Vanessa Paradis and Clemence Poesy.

Probably slightly tougher was the conundrum thrown up by the snowy Sundance Film Festival - how do you get away with hiding thermals under red carpet dresses? Kate Bosworth, Cara Delevingne, Kirsten Dunst, Emily Bunt and Lake Bell seemed to managed very well.

W.E. premiere: Madonna, Ewan McGregor, Crystal Renn and... Lady Bunny

Jumping on a bandwagon? Us? No. Of course not. Anyway, here's a gallery from the NY premiere at Ziegfeld Theatre, featuring most of the film's stars including Madonna, Andrea Riseborough and James D'Arcy. Apparently everyone wants tickets to Madonna's next live show though, so Julia Stiles, Ivanka Trump, Rachel Roy, Irina Shayk, Lady Bunny, Donna Karan, Diane Von Furstenberg, Zac Posen, Crystal Renn, Kelly Bensimon and Ewan McGregor also turned up.

David Furnish says Madonna is an cheating fraud, retracts comment four days later

For the last week though, since Elton lost out on the 'Best Original Song' category at the Globes to Madonna, it's been this last question that's concerned poor David the most. He's gone from anger at the popstar, to resentment, to reasoning and finally ending with an all out apology. In the space of just four days. There's no shame in knowing when you're wrong.

Golden Globes 2012: complete fashion round up - designer name-checks, hits and misses!

Ever the trooper when it comes to dipping a toe outside the box, we've got Charlize Theron in a Dior couture gown so eye-catching it could put Galliano's temp-replacement Bill Gaytten on the map properly at last; we love the oversized bow thigh-high slit. Fellow forward fashion thinker/crazy lady (delete as appropriate) Tilda Swinton went for a typically her Pal Haider Ackerman two-piece.

Golden Globes 2012: The best bits and the worst bits and some other bits

Well, as with any awards ceremony, it was a mixture of the awkward (Rob Lowe and Julianne Moore's unfortunate teleprompter failure exposing their ad-libbing skills), the earnest (Morgan Freeman's lifetime achievement award) and the actually funny (George Clooney makes a penis joke about Michael Fassbender). Also, there's Madonna's genuinely creepy comeback to Ricky Gervais. STOP IT, GRAN. IT'S HORRIBLE.

(Also, sorry about the ads in some of the vids. Still, at least we know what shampoo to buy)
