Despite being the producer of the moment, well-born Londoner Ronson is firmly stuck in the sixties. Everything he touches turns to competent, yet ultimately derivative soul. He's at his best when producing artists with a bit of talent such as Lily Allen and Amy Winehouse but his own work , specifically his album of cover versions, seem to suck the vibrancy from the originals. His version of the Smith's classic is not quite 'stop me' but is certainly 'heard this one before'. Mark was dating Gavins Rossdale's' daughter last year and is the step son of Mick Jones from Foreigner - connections which can only be helpful in the music biz. His latest album Record Collection thankfully contained no cover versions and had guest appearances from everyone from Boy George (good) to the lead singer of the View (not so good). He is engaged to Agent Provocateur model Josephine De la Baume.
