As drumming baby George Dawes on BBC anti-quiz show Shooting Stars, Lucas was a breath of fresh air. Little Britain, the sketch show he made with David Walliams was also funny for his time particularity as victim-minded Welsh gay Daffyd. However, as is often the story, the series got progressively more popular and more crude, ridding it of the subversive charm it once held. Lucas has been listed as one of the most influential gay men in the UK and was one of the first to take up a civil partnership with partner Kevin McGee.
