Michael McIntyre quits Britain's Got Talent, only Amanda Holden left

Incidentally, does anyone else think the show would be a lot funnier if they just put the word 'talent' in quotation marks? Or alternatively, put 'Britain' in quotation marks as well and then make the entire show about asylum seekers dancing and smashing cans with their breasts in the forlorn hope of winning a working visa. So, as mentioned in the title, the headline and the intro, Michael McIntyre has said he's going to be leaving BGT after the end of this series in order to pursue his career as a comedian. (Via The Sun)

GQ Men Of The Year Awards 2011: red carpet arrivals, winners and Abbey Clancy's knickers

Obviously women dominated the red carpet at the man-themed event, with Abbey Clancy and Holly Valance competing over underwear exposure (Clancy won). Lara Stone actually won a Man of the Year award, which is a bit weird - what are GQ trying to tell us? David Walliams is currently swimming through sewage (not a euphemism for the red carpet) so couldn't attend, but there were a few other couples - Jamie Cullum and Sophie Dahl, Kelly Brook and that guy, Daisy Lowe and Matt Smith, the latter of which picked up a prize for Best Dressed.

Last night's ITV Summer Party, invite list extended far and wide

Just kiddin', we love Pollard really. In fact, you can forgot about Jay-Z's remake of Annie starring Willow Smith because Pollard will be appearing in a stage adaptation of the film at Poole's Lighthouse Centre this autumn. Sit on that, Hollywood.

Also at the ITV Summer Party, which was held in Notting Hill, we have the TOWIE lot, Richard Bacon, Nicky Clarke, Myleene Klass, Michael Ball, Martin Kemp, Lynda Bellingham, Lembit Opik, John Sergeant, Jeff Brazier, Emma Bunton, Elen Rivas and more (ie, the 'all talent' mailing list in the party-planning committee's address book).

Britain's Got Talent Final

If you have been watching throughout the week, you will agree with us when we say that this year Britain's Got Talent has been an absolute shambles. Despite having sat through thousands of auditions, there is no Diversity, there is no SuBo and there is no Spellbound. Instead we've got a man playing a medley of pop songs on the piano and another man doing impressions of Kevin Webster off of Corrie. It's not exactly groundbreaking talent.

Allow us cynical bastards to give our verdict on the 10 finalists one by one...

Channel 4 Comedy Gala 2011: NDubz apparently the 'musical' guest

Since the event isn't actually shown on TV for a few weeks we can't show you any footage or tell you any of the fantastically exciting things that went on inside, for fear of reprisals from the Channel 4 PR department, a notoriously vicious and unforgiving lot. Michael Mcintyre doesn't smile like that because he's happy, it's because he's scared.

Also, doesn't Dappy have a face that, in the words of Chopper, 'needs a regular panel beating'? We'd like to think so.

Who’d win a fight between Simon Cowell and Knight Rider?

Replacing the male stars of ITV1’s flagship gong show are David “The Hoff” Hasselhoff and Michael “observational comedian” McIntyre. And judging from the first episode, which we were lucky enough to be given a preview of, the new “sparky” judges have allowed the BGT editors to ramp up the energy, speed and volume accordingly. BGT is now as fast-cut and wooshy as an Edgar Wright movie. We needed a lie down after.

So without giving too much away, here’s what you’re getting this Saturday:

An intro that seems to be pretending SuBo won.

Colin Firth crowned Britain's ideal celebrity neighbour, along with Jeremy Clarkson

We're only joking of course. We'd almost definitely not do that. Which is lucky, because according to a recent study by Zoopla.co.uk, the most desireable celebrity neighbour is Colin Firth and he's got kids, which throws a whole new element into that distinctly criminal mix.
