Originating from Liverpool she has admitted she feels like the 'ugly one' in Girls Aloud, and is often referred to as the pale, miserable member. After years and hordes of fake tan, she has ditched the tangoed look (an act which should be closely followed by Sarah Harding) and embraced her white ginge self. Spurred on by her struggle to find make up that suits her skin colour, Nicola has launched her own make up brand called Dainty Doll. Since her revamp, Nicola has been involved in a fight with words with Radio1 presenter Chris Moyles and is now considered to be "quite fit". In December 2010 she signed a record deal with Universal.
