Golden Globes 2012: complete fashion round up - designer name-checks, hits and misses!

Ever the trooper when it comes to dipping a toe outside the box, we've got Charlize Theron in a Dior couture gown so eye-catching it could put Galliano's temp-replacement Bill Gaytten on the map properly at last; we love the oversized bow thigh-high slit. Fellow forward fashion thinker/crazy lady (delete as appropriate) Tilda Swinton went for a typically her Pal Haider Ackerman two-piece.

Drew Barrymore tops Forbes list of overpaid actors, poor Drew. Poor rich Drew

Poor old Barrymore, she got on the drugs, got off the drugs, emancipated her parents, had a lesbian affair, did Playboy, brushed her teeth and made several millions. And for what? To be told that she's officially the most overpaid actor in Hollywood. Seems a bit unfair. If people want to give Drew money for performing badly, why shouldn't she take it? Lohan will probably end up doing the same down on Sunset and no one will care about that.

In ‘Confidential: The Life of Secret Agent Turned Hollywood Tycoon’ (not the snappiest book title around, eh?) Arnon Milchan asserts that originally Nicole Kidman’s forehead had been contracted in to play Mrs Smith, but that Brad pulled out because he didn’t have ‘chemistry’ with Kidman. Because in Hollywood you can pull out of a contracted job and make wild demands if you just don’t fancy your co-star much. Anyway, a few last-minute alterations, and Angelina was cast instead and Brad jumped right back on board. Because what man wouldn’t, really? The rest, of course, is history.

Hollywood types queue up to meet Kate and William at BAFTA Brits To Watch party

The BAFTA Brits to Watch party was apparently an initiative to put UK rising talent in the spotlight. Too bad that the royals turned up and stole all attention from the newcomers really, although Prince William is president of the academy so we're sure he gave an inspiring pep talk about all his experience in the film industry *tumbleweeds roll by*

Anyway, aside from The Darkness, in today's collection of snaps the celebs did want you to see we've got those simpleton space cadets Jedward, silver skinned alien Justin Bieber, Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman, Tom 'Thumb' Cruise, Kim How-the-fuck-are-you-still-making-cash Kardashian and poor old Imogen Thomas, who was finally able to get up the courage to flash her tits out and about in London last night, but even then they were at half-mast.

Nicole Kidman thinks boys are revolting, used to chew her grandmother's wedding ring

However, as you may have guessed, that wasn't in fact how Nicole Kidman lived as a struggling actor. No, she ate fruit and vegetables instead of discarded chinese takeaway and shot for the moon instead of heroin. But she did hate her hair, and found boys revolting, which we can kind of sympathise with (Via The Sun):

I hated being so tall, at 5ft 11in. I had reached 5ft 10in at just 13. It made me feel very self-conscious.

I used to confide in my mum Janelle, who was tall too - 5ft 10in. She used to tell me that men liked tall women.
