Point Break to be remade. Why? WHY?

It has recently been confirmed that Point Break, surfing undercover cop bromance extraordinaire, is to be remade by Kurt Wimmers, the man who made flimsy Jolie vehicle Salt (Tagline: “Who is Salt?” Answer: nobody cares).

The remake will be moved from its stoneriffic LA beach setting to, er, the “world of extreme sports” and it will, most likely, be shit.

The news has sent indignant film fans to Twitter, where they’re making quite the kerfuffle, and we shall use their comments in the absence of any concrete quotes from the industry:

Patrick Swayze dies of pancreatic cancer aged 57

His publicist Annette Wolf gave a short statement:

"Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months,"

Patrick admitted in January that he might only have two years to live, but denied he was near death.

He said he was scared "scared" and "going through hell".

"Am I dying? Am I giving up? Am I on my death bed? Am I saying goodbye to people? No way,".

Reports suggested Patrick Swayze had died after a battle with pancreatic cancer

Florida Radio Station KISS FM have reported the Dirty Dancing star has lost his well publicized battle with cancer. We'll get you the details as soon as we can. Hopefully it is just a rumour, but...y'know.

EDIT: NOBODY PUTS SWAYZE IN THE CORONER'S

People Magazine are saying that a representative is saying Swayze is still alive - and other sources are saying he has been hospitalized due to 'complications'....

What to believe... Hopefully he's fine.
