To be honest, not everyone looked miserable, it was largely just Alexa Chung. She probably got cornered by Bob Geldof on the way in - he's always a cheery one at Christmas. Elsewhere, there was Kate Moss and her daughter, Sharlene Splithairy, Emma Bunton, Kelly Holmes, Macca and his new bride, Mariella Frostrup and Eddy Monsoon reminding us to set the digibox for Ab Fab on the 25th. Although not to be too massively hopeful about enjoying it - the chance of Chung smiling is probably more likely.

Nancy's Boy

Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell get married on John Lennon's birthday, look very happy

The service took place at the Old Marylebone Town Hall registery office, which is where Macca wed his first wife Linda in 1969, and the newlyweds happily posed for snaps afterwards, with the groom telling reporters:

"[I feel] Terrific, thank you. I feel married. I feel absolutely wonderful."

Guests included Ringo Starr and wife Barbara Bach, Ronnie Wood, Barbara Walters, Jools Holland and Macca's children, including Beatrice, who was a flower girl, and Stella who designed the bride's dress.

George Harrison Living in the Material World premiere: two Beatles, two Stones and Yoko

Billy Connolly, Eric Idle and Terry Gilliam for instance. Can't think where else we'd see them together. Oh, and Monty Don of course. Speaking of which, we always suspected Monty Don of conspiring with Alan Titchmarsh to kill Geoff Hamilton, but have never had any evidence. Not that Monty would have been a willing participant. You've only got to look at Alan Titchmarsh's smile to know there's a seriously malevolent presence hiding behind that jolly facade.

Or do we? Maybe it was those rascally scoundrels all along. Maybe poor old Rupert The Murdoch was nothing but a yellow trousered (and eyed) patsy for those evil, fame hungry stars of stage and screen. Evil masterminds like Heather 'Thrills, Pills and (nasty) Spills' Mills. Or at least so says Piers while talking to his best pal Conan O'Brien about Heather's recent accusations that Piers had been a phonehacker of Macca:

'I kind of thought when Heather Mills poked her head up above the parapet, the whole thing got completely ridiculous,'

Shevell be the death of him

The Beatle's LOVE fifth anniversary, apparently something to do with the circus

Anyway, the above event was the fifth anniversary of the Beatles' LOVE Cirque Du Soleil show. Why it needed a fifth anniversary (apparently something to do with George Harrison dying) is beyond us, but people turned up to it anyway. Maybe it's a bit like when you keep going to your grandparent's birthdays, knowing full well it will be totally miserable and the chances of them recognise you through their haze of pain medication is almost nil, but you have to turn up just in case they die before the next one. Maybe it's that, eh, PAUL?

Linda McCartney book launch: Not a quorn sausage in sight

The night was hosted by Linda's widow Paul and daughters Mary and Stella, drawing an A-list crowd including Tracey Emin, Twiggy, Lily Cole and Jools Holland, who didn't find time to break into any honky tonk, which is a relief. Also, not a drug metaphor. Nice to see Lulu out and about as well, albeit in an outfit as tight as her face.

Paul McCartney engaged to Nancy Shevell, Heather Mills weeps into empty piggy bank

We don't know much about Nancy Shevell, and we want to know whether she's good enough for our P-Mac. So, as expert detectives - also known as 'Wikipedia users' - we've managed to track down her life history and find out every single little thing about her. Well, mainly the fact she's a multi-millionairess from New York. And that she does something to do with transport. But mainly the millionaire bit.

Happy news all round then, as it means Macca doesn't need to worry too much about that pre-nup.

Paris Fashion Week A/W 2011 round-up with Alexa Chung, Lily Allen and Duffy

We're not sure if it's Karl Lagerfeld's Chanel collection that's got the guy on the top row salvating or the thought of Alexa Chung's rumbling stomach (Chung, treat yourself to a crepe today please)... And we hate to say it, Karl, but we think Ed Hardy snuck in to pinch your designs. Anyway, the designer, who's said to be creating Lily Allen's bridal gown, showcased his ready to wear collection earlier today. The crowd look riveted, don't they?

We've had a quiet few months from Heather Mills - last we heard she was telling teachers at her daughter's parents evening that Beatrice got her musical talent from herself, but now she's back, back, BACK in her favourite place, the claims court, where she is being sued by her former publicist for unpaid fees totaling $168,000.

BAFTAs 2011: The afterparties, Emma Watson manages to keep tits in check

Now, we know that most of you aren't here for Baftas fashion or Baftas celebrity gossip, no, we know what you really want to know is, what did they serve at the Grosvenor House afterparty meal? Did they go with duck, a notoriously risky choice, or souffle? Is blue cheese too much, or would a simple cheddar do? Well, worry no more because apparently the menu consisted of Dorset Blue Vinny cheese and leek tart, loin of venison and Rabot Estate chocolate ganache with salted caramel ice cream.
