Teenage girls know him better as Calvin Valentine from Hollyoaks, but no one else really knew who Ricky was until he became a contestant on 'Strictly Come Dancing' and ran over a photographer in the same week.

Yes, November 2009 was a busy time for Ricky Whittle as he celebrated becoming the nation's favourite ballroom dancer by driving down a pesky pap who was trying to capture him on a night out. And in a completely unrelated incident the following week, Whittle broke up from his long-term girlfriend and fellow Hollyoaks actress Carley Stenson (Steph). Sadly for Ricky, the controversy surrounding him meant that he failed to live up to his previous odds as favourite and came runner up on Strictly, losing out to that guy from Crimewatch.

Unless you've bought this year's Hollyoaks Hunks calendar then you won't be seeing much of Ricky for a while, as his character Calvin Valentine was recently shot dead. Shame.
