Speaking to The Mirror, Rod had this to say about the kind of shenanigans he enjoyed in his heyday. Apparently those smug, self-serving neophytes at Holiday Inn didn't treat him right, didn't show him the respect he deserved. Called him names and stuff (we assume):

“It seems foolish now, but we did it is was because, especially in the Holiday Inns, we’d get no respect.

“They didn’t want to serve us, so we took our revenge.

“We’d empty rooms, stick furniture in the lift and send it to the lobby. I did it in Perth in the 80s and got a £7,000 bill.”

Carousel of Hope charity ball: Buzz Aldrin parties with Joan Collins and Halle Berry

Anyway, if you like your charity balls star studded (a bit like Elton's) then the Carousel of Hope fundraiser for childhood diabetes would have been right up your street. Buzz Aldrin was there, and he's been to the moon. That should give you an idea of the calibre of 'sleb we're dealing with.

Vanessa Feltz, Rod Stewart, Geri Halliwell all protected by 'Charity Event', HM seething

We'll let you make your judgements about the Great White Banded One, but joining her in her protected habitat were Geri Halliwell, who was more than happy to show her support(s) for the event and Rod Stewart with his larger than life wife Penny Lancaster, who's either pregnant or has a husband who's a little insensitive about her perforated bowel.

It's a charity event so we'll leave it there shall we?
