It turns out that it's to do with money. Yeah, money. Who would have guessed? According to a recent survey by Forbes (the magazine, not a raffishly named friend of ours) it seems that if you pay shitty actors to do a shitty job on a film based on magic and sorcery, then you're almost certain to make a lot more money from the final product than you paid them to stumble through it.

Shia LaBeouf just being Shia LaBeouf, on the pavement in Vancouver

Vancouver was recently voted 'best city to live in in the world' due to its stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education and infrastructure. Then Shia LaBeouf arrived and ended up fighting in the gutter with a man on crutches. We can't really work out what's going on. There's a guy called Mike, some fumbling and then a warm embrace at the end as Shia 'winds down'.

Which certainly explains why he did Transformers, the filming of which coincided almost exactly with the point at which he became a loudmouthed thug. Even Harrison Ford called him a 'fucking idiot' after he did Indiana Jones.

Tom Hardy speaks about Shia LaBeouf fight, takes it like a true man

Speaking to denofgeek.com about his time on the set of The Wettest County in the World, Tom Hardy explained:

"I got knocked out by Shia LaBeouf, actually. In Wettest County, apparently.

"No, he did. He knocked me out sparko. Out cold. He's a bad, bad boy. He is. He's quite intimidating as well. He's a scary dude.

"He just attacked me. He was drinking moonshine. I was wearing a cardigan, and er, went down."

So what's happened in his most recent interview? Well, he talks about sleeping with Megan Fox, what a tough guy he is, what a really strong guy he is and how tough he is (Via Details Magazine)

"This is not to be comparing myself to DiCaprio, but I remember the hatred for him when every girl I liked wanted to . . ." He pauses. "It's not extraordinary envy, like Robert Pattinson fan-worship shit, but I do feel animosity from men. They feel like they want to challenge me. 'I just fucked up Shia LaBeouf!' MTV Movie Awards 2011: Full winners list and red carpet pics.

Now, I like the MTV Movie Awards. They remind me a bit of the Smash Hits Pollwinners Party, but without Carter USM wrestling Phillip Schofield to the ground for wearing a Tina Turner leather jacket. Congrats to Tom Felton for coming home with the Best Villain award.

Shia LaBoeuf gets drunk, chestbumps fan, could be stunt for Transformers spin off

Anyway, apparently last Saturday Shia was just minding his own business at a bar, avoiding starting any LaBoeuf with anyone, when suddenly he was approached by a fan. This fan wanted more than a simple hello though. He wanted a picture.

According to the fan, Mark Mastro, (via Radaronline):

"My girlfriend saw Shia, and told me. I wanted to get a picture with him so I went over to his table, sat down next to him, and told him I was a fan of his. I called him Mr. LeBeouf.

"He didn't want anything to do with me,"
