Steve Coogan hands ex-NOTW journo his arse on a plate on Newsnight

Admittedly, it's not difficult to make a NOTW journo squirm this week and there is always going to be the flimsy "in the public interest" defence (which, incidentally is bollocks - tabloids and sites like HM only print salacious takes of celebrity bonkathons because a) people want to read about them and b) they're funny) but it's still ace to see Alan Partridge getting on his high horse (wearing sports casual of course) and venting his spleen.

He's got football pie all over his face.

Senna premiere: Damon Hill looks like a tramp, Yasmin Le Bon looks young, still

That's right, Senna is a film about Ayrton Senna, a man who was widely regarded as the greatest racing driver of all time. Especially apt because the premiere were attended by Jeremy Clarkson, a man widely regarded as the greatest self-aggrandising man-child of all time.

First Class trailers

Friday Film Trailers: True Legend, The Trip, 30 Minutes, X-Men First Class

First up, The Trip doesn't need much explanation, as it's simply a film version of the series that was on earlier this year with Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon visting restaurants and being reasonably funny along with it. Hopefully it should be better than the series, which had a lot of dead time and certainly could have been trimmed. Worth a watch anyway.

TV BAFTA nominations announced, including Misfits, The Killing and Only Way Is Essex

Here's the TV BAFTA nominations list in full - Misfits leads the way with four nods, while Matt Smith has become the first Doctor Who star to get recognised. Coogan also scores his first nom since Alan Partridge for The Trip and Mad Men goes again The Killing, Glee and Boardwalk Empire in the 'don't expect the star to pick up this award' category.

Alan Partridge is named as nation's favourite DJ, real-life DJs slightly upset

Anyway, apparently Partridge can do no wrong and as a result has been voted the nation's favourite DJ in a recent poll, with rotund onanist Chris Moyles not even making it into the top five. What a shame.

With 42 percent of the vote, he managed to beat Chris Evans (38%), BBC Radio 1’s Fearne Cotton (11%), Capital Radio’s Johnny Vaughn (5%) and Absolute’s Christian O’Connell (4%). Don't see anything for Huey there. Must have been a mistake somewhere along the line. Worst of all, it means that some people are actually listening to Fearne on purpose.
