Kwasi Danquah III hails from Bow, East London where he moved to at the age of 9. His status grew (pun) in the grime scene in the mid-2000s as a member of Ruff Sqwad. He 'broke through' in 2007 with his album Star in da Hood, which is also the name of his successful clothing line. He repeated his first album success with Catch 22, scoring a number one with Dappy for their song No. 1.

He is only 5'3" or something, hence the name Tinchy, which isn't actually a name, but. y'know implies that he's short. He also takes big long strydes from place to place.
