Tom Jones offers his services as an X Factor judge, says he's worried about the kids

That's right, Tom Jones is the most recent celebrity to offer his services to the show, apparently hoping that his gentler touch will contrast nicely with some of the other judges general nastiness/batshit insanity. (Via The Daily Star)

"I would like to be a judge on The X Factor for sure: These talent shows are a good thing, but only as long as the kids are treated properly. They go straight in at the deep end and are not ready for it. That's my only fear."

The Voice UK: Will Young out, bloke from The Script in

According to The Sun, the judging panel for the UK version of this Dutch talent show was to be Jessie J (oh god), will.i.am (oh god), Tom Jones (hurrrrrggg!) and Will Young (quite good). Well they were three quarters right.

The final judge has now been confirmed as Danny from The Script (the one they didn’t have to hide at the back of photos). The frontman for the briefly successful Irish manband will join his fellow singing experts when the show starts on the Beeb in the Spring.

Isle of Wight Festival 2011, Day 2: Old man dance-off - Iggy Pop vs Jarvis Cocker

Saturday's line-up at Isle Of Wight seemed to have an average age of around 60, hosting the likes of Seasick Steve - seen here chugging on a bottle of red wine, Tom Jones - still being a turtle-necked silver fox and the aforementioned Andrea Corr - who is surely about 100 years old by now.

However, the most notable old aged acts of the day were Iggy Pop and Pulp's Jarvis Cocker, who were pulling some amazing moves during their respective performances. We've compiled their best moves into two seperate images to leave it up to you to decide who won the dance-off...

American Idol finale: Jack Black, Bono, Gordon Ramsay and a terracotta Tom Jones

Anyway, some guy called Scotty McCreery won the whole shebang, meaning he's now in for at least one year of fame, followed by an entire lifetime of trying to build some sort of musical credibility.

Joining Scotty at the finale were Jack Black, Bono, Gordon Ramsay, Janice Dickinson, Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson, The Edge and a very brown Tom Jones. If we had to single anyone out for ridicule we'd probably go for Janice Dickinson. Ha ha. Awful woman.

Either way, while our future king goes on Daybreak to explain exactly why he has so much trouble stringing a few words together, Charlie and his old lady, the Duchess of Cornwall, decided to pop along to an event called The Prince's Trust Rock Gala 2010, which is apparently linked to him rather than those misleadingly cheap tinned hotdogs.

As we've previously covered the future king (come on Liz, let him have a go) it's worth mentioning Amanda Holden with that panicked look of desperation all celebrities get when they realise it's their time to report for Carrousel, Michael McIntyre with a suspiciously brown face (not racist), Chris Tarrant with a suspiciously smug face (not rational), and Tom Jones, who still looks like he's trying to undress you through the camera lens, the dirty old rascal.

Unfortunately these two were not invited to the celebrations, as the clientele was far too high-brow. It saw the likes of er, The Kooks, The Magic Numbers, Konnie Huq, Patrick Keilty, Rick Edwards, Zoe Salmon, someone from Big Brother and Supergrass...

Well, at least it was held in a brewery.

Kasabian, Estelle, Tom and Dizzee Rascall provided the entertainment, amidst protests that The Magic Numbers declined to get up on stage...

Tom Jones honoured for 'exceptional staying power'

Bon Jovi was also at the awards which honoured Tom (and his new grey fluff stuck to a raisin look) despite him not being a songwriter, but we mainly put this up so we could re-watch this amazing YouTube clip of Tom in his prime.

Almost enough to make us want to fuck him ourselves.

The orange fuzzy haired Welshman has had a career spanning over 4 decades and has most middle aged woman weak at the knees and throwing their granny pants at him. His songs are timeless hits that are often regurgitated on the X Factor for some poor over 25 year old to try and tap into his fan base. Whilst most men his age rock backwards and forwards in their rocking chair, moaning on about how prices have risen and violence on TV, he continues to release albums to charm the ladies and keep the millions rolling in. He is the immortal sex bomb.
