He was the posh lad that could hit a note or two. Yet when he came face to face with Simon Cowell his life changed forever. After winning Pop Idol in 2002, he had a number one single and an instant fan base. But like so many reality television pop stars his shelf life, it was thought, would be relatively short. It wasn't until he released 'Leave Right Now' that he was spiralled into a world where music artists were actually valued for their contribution to pop and seven years later he has also appeared in films and won Rear of the Year award in 2005.
