Don't mention the Ward!

Adam Ant announced a long awaited comeback and Greatest Hits tour last night at a gig in Chelsea (amazing celeb quota: Sam Fox). Bad news for Ant fans though - this is all part of his new band, the dreadfully named 'The Good, The Mad And The Lovely Posse'. His girlfriend, Georgina Baillie (her of Sachsgate fame) is his backing singer :(

I'm not quite sure how I feel about this to be honest.

On one hand it's great to see him in better shape than he was when we wrote this and not waving guns around or running away from doctors - but on the other hand it would have been amazing if this was an Adam and the Ants reunion, rather than using his back catalogue to give a boost to something new and inevitably not as good*.

Still - always good to see Chris McCormack (3 Colours Red) back on stage.

What do you think? Will you go?

*Disclosure - I was in a band produced by Adam's long-time writing partner Marco, so I'm probably a bit biased.

  • No honey, this is leftover from Sunday when the cock was most definitely broken out.
With my partner, I have learnt to make the good times last.... it's all about ever decreasing circles apparently :-/

  • Good 'Old' Adam's wearing a comfy pair of MBTs. Says it all really! Mind you, 'Ridicule is nothing to be scared of'!

  • He never struck me as 'having a girlfriend' material.

  • You are in a lovely, generous mood today. Nice to Kerry earlier. Now this. Did you get it on last night?

  • Well yes and no.
I'm not a fan of 80s flashback reunions.
    Inevitably they fall flat.
    Culture Club was pretty shit.
Duran Duran look a tad desperate when they're trying to flog their own particular dead horse.
Just For Men and spanks notwithstanding.
It's a bit like Top Gear, only with music instead of cars.
    Naff, mate, NAFF.
And it's doubtful that the Ants would want to reform, didn't they all have a massive falling out in the 90s?
Good luck to Adam and the good, the mad and the lovely posse (rolls off the tongue!).
Sadly I doubt chart success beckons, but at least he's back doing what he loves and not in the Maudsley!
