Amy Winehouse has had a turbulent time since she arrived back in London last week after an extended holiday in St Lucia. First she had a quickie divorce from Blaaaaaake and today she's had to appear in court following assault charges dating back to last September...

Winehouse is accused of hitting a fan after a performance (and we use that term lightly) at the End of Summer Ball in Berkeley square last September. Dancer Sherene Flash claims that Winehouse lashed out and punched her in the eye when she tried to take a photo of the singer.

The 26-year-old turned up at the City of Westminster Magistrates court this morning for the trial with her dad Mitch, where prosecutor Lyall Thompson has said Winehouse appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or "some other substance" when she hit Flash.

But looking back at the pictures of the singer at the charity do (pic 11), we can't understand what he could mean...

pic 9 - urrrgggh look at the state of that - she's got fix marks all over her feet & legs. i guess the veins in her arms must be too fucked up to use anymore...

Be fair. She's not a Bad Person, she's a young woman who didn't know when to stop (as far as experimenting with drugs) and has consequently been through a good few years of shit because of addiction. Addiciton is a really fucking awful thing and it ruins lives.
Quite frankly, she deserves a bit of credit for cleaning up her act (even just a bit) and returning to face up to the consequences of her actions.

As for talentless, she's got a great voice and, when not three sheets to the wind on smack, is a great performer.

It's probably only my stupid eye sight - must get employer to pay for expensive eye test - but doesn't she look a wee bit like Nemo? As in the fish. Just like her daddy.

However, it could be that they were genuinely surprised that the court was surrounded by paps and so forth. "Gosh, daddy, why are they here?"

Although she has clearly had a wash, when will she change her boring and probably stinking shoes? (See all photos of her feet since 2007)
