The weekend's V Festival appearance with The Specials was a triumph for Amy Winehouse's PR team. Great photos and all round positive coverage of the "She's FINALLY better" type. Strange that her other appearance wasn't spoken of quite as much...

The contrast between the two appearances were pretty amazing.

 

On one stage you had a well thought out collaboration between two great musicians that was well planned, performed perfectly and received warmly from a grateful press and public.

 

On the other you had one junkie playing his incipid shite whilst a drunk ex-junkie stood on stage next to him, groping her own tits and shouting incoherent nonsense down a microphone.

 

I for one, don't understand why this performance didn't make it onto T4!

 

And incase you're wondering how long I've been waiting to shoehorn in the caption for picture 7, the answer is 14months and 18 days.

  • Not sure where you live ( somewhere in the Welsh hills perhaps?) as I have the misfortune of having my office in the West End and can assure you that the tourists are still VERY MUCH HERE. Still feeding pigeons, still pulling their tongues at the Royal guards, still eating a dirty hot dog while sat on the oxford street pavements and still repeating "mind the gap" at every station on the tube. They've gone, have they fuck?!!
