Ironman's DAD made Captain America?!

The full trailer for Captain America has just been released, and any previous worries about whether Marvel had created a dud are dispelled. This looks great and my God, it's good to see Tommy Lee-Jones back in a blockbuster...

Things of note:

  1. Great use of CGI to make Chris Evans appear like a puny little weakling at the beginning.
  2. Costume is amazing
  3. Nazi Zombies!
  4. Really interesting clue given away - is Mr. Stark who "creates" Capt. America Tony Stark (aka Ironman)'s dad? If so that adds an entirely new dimension to the forthcoming Avengers film. This is the point wher eI get shouted down by a trillion comic book guys who can't believe I didn't know that already and what a lame, stupid, British tool I am.

What do you think? Winker or Stinker?

  • Looks pretty good, it's a fairly difficult story to fuck up - there's limitless good source material to work from.

I think \ hope Thor might be pretty good, it depends if Branny daaahling spends all the screen time fannying about trying to turn it into cinematic opera or if actually he gives us what we want i.e. loads of Nordic violence and action.

The end game to all these origin films - Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, etc - is the Avengers film (or films, I've heard Samuel L Jackson is signed up for 7 films). Which, if it's done right, will be fucking brilliant.....

  • It could be a winker. I can feel it in my water. Also, America might make up for the queasy feeling I've got about Thor (Snore?) and Spideekid.
