Congratulations to Abbey Clancy and Peter Crouch. No, not for getting to the Champions League - the WAG gave birth to a daughter last night. Aw, we bet the Spurs player hasn't had as much of a sleepless night since he went on that stag do in Madrid last year...

We don't wanted to be humbugs about baby news - even though we're jealous about how minted Crouch is, so let's not dwell on ropey hooker-gate...

According to reports, Abbey gave birth to a girl who weighed 7lb 9 oz in London last night.

Talking to The Sun, a spokesman for the couple said:

"They're thrilled. Mother and baby are doing fine."

Meanwhile, a source added:

"They hope the baby will help them move on. Peter knows he was an idiot, but they're a very solid couple now."

Talking of solids, Crouchy better not use this weekend's Spurs game to get out of nappy duties.

So the baby weighs more than he does then? Looking forward to next week when Abby sheds the baby weight and does the obligatory swimsuit shot in Closer. Maybe she can give the placenta to Crouchy to fatten him up. It tastes like sausages apparently.
