The Celebrity Big Brother 2010 house - the infamous doorbell
Hell is other people (or celebrities)
Wed, 30/12/2009 - 00:00 by HM writerNow that we know Boy George won't be going in, and that Kym Marsh probably will be (although it's now being claimed that she doesn't have a Twitter account after all - Jack Ryder's revenge?) we can now reveal exclusive details about the Big Brother house for the last ever Celebrity Big Brother…
And apparently 'Hell Awaits' in the Big Brother house for the celebrity contestants, so far rumoured as Lady Sovereign, Pamela Anderson, Alex Reid, Kym Marsh, page 3 girl Nicola T, Ronnie Wood's ex Ekaterina Ivanova, and Hollywood vice madam Heidi Fleiss.
Producer Shirley Jones has today revealed that the whole series has been inspired by Dante's Inferno (but will the celebrities know what that means?), explaining:
"The famous line from Dante’s Inferno is 'Abandon hope all ye who enter here', which has inspired much of what we have done to the house, particularly the entrance which is dark and cavernous with flaming walls. When the celebrities arrive in the house on Sunday night they will definitely wonder what is in store for them, it looks incredibly different from previous years.
She added:
"As well as Dante we have been hugely influenced by Sartre’s line 'Hell is other people’ and the house reflects this. Whilst the flames and dark colours might look a bit hellish to some, sometimes your actual hell is the people you’re with so we have removed some of the doors to make everything more open plan, there are very few areas to go to if someone needs to grab five minutes of peace and quiet."
The shower is large enough for 'multiple occupants' (our money on Nicola T and Alex Reid - but please God no) but don't panic, there won't be any cameras inside, so we'll have to make do with the disturbing mental image instead.
Nothing has been revealed about the Diary Room or where the celebrities are supposed to be sleeping.
So fingers crossed outside in the pissing rain for Alex Reid…
The new series of Celebrity Big Brother starts with a live launch at 9pm, Sunday 3rd January on Channel 4.

Naff bordello meets Travelodge.
I hope that all the shareholders and Shirley Jones go up inside the BB house in an inferno not unlike that of Dante. Fucking pain-inflicting boring cunts that they are
The scary thing is that the others passed? Either said test is like a basic skills foundation stage exam or maybe Alex Reid is an alright bloke really?
The fact that the decaying equine corpse-floggers at endemol can actually mention celebrity BB, Dante and Sartre in the same sentence is mind-boggling. Hell in this case is a single second spent watching this steaming pile of tv sewage before reaching for the remote. That said, looking at medieval illustrations of Dante's inferno, it would be a good destination to send the channel 4 schedulers.
Painting the entrance red was inspired by Dante???????
This has actually made me glad that my satellite dish blew away.
Glad you liked it!
Kerry Katona is believed to have failed a psychological test.
Got to love that woman. Bring in Jodie Marsh again.
And bring back your blog!
Bill Hicks had something to say on all this. Hell presupposes Satan...

(It was either a youtube clip of a dead comic or a quote from Dostoyevsky's Brothers Karamazov. Think I chose right although am delighted that such formidable thinkers 'hugely influenced' the concept of the 'Celebrity' Big Brother House this year - oxymoronic I think is the term to sum it all.)
Mr HM that fencing mask you were wearing last night on BBC3 was more interesting then the celebs they have got lined up for the snoozefest that is BB.
