Cheryl Cole has reportedly turned down a £4 million deal to take over from Paula Abdul on American Idol because she just doesn't trust loves husband Ashley too much. After all, who could forget the scandal of Colegate...

According to reports, Cheryl, who has been parading about in LA, will not take the job as Abdul's replacement as she doesn't want to leave her Chelsea playing husband on his own in London.

And after those reports that he slept with another woman before vomiting on her beige carpet (this is not another euphemism) we don't blame her.

A source said:

Cheryl hasn't had any TV meetings since she's been over there. There have never been plans for her to go on US TV. It would mean she would have to leave Britain, which she won't do because it's her home. She wouldn't leave Ashley behind.

She's only over there to work on her new solo album in the studio. She only wants to focus on her music. That's what she is - a singer.
