While you're sitting in your kitchen crunching down on dry toast and staring at the raindrops trickling down your window, a whole load of celebrities (and Daniel Beddingfield) are walking around a field enjoying live music and sipping cold beer in the 38C heat. Makes you die a little bit inside, doesn't it? It was the first day of Coachella Festival in California yesterday, and we've sifted through over 1,000 photos (no exaggeration) to pick the best of the bunch just for you. It involves lots of people you may recognise wearing sunglasses.

Although we slag her off a bit - okay, quite a lot - it was nice to see Katy Perry in amongst the crowd and partying on down with the commoners and not taking her throne at the side of the stage as a bunch of servants aired her down with giant feathers. Especially when you contrast the picture of her to that of Paris Hilton, hand-on-hip and posing for photos in front of the barrier and as far away from the general public as possible.

Other photographic highlights inlcude 66-year-old Danny Devito watching on from the side, Cee Lo Green flicking us the Vs, Jack Osbourne coming dressed as a park ranger (complete with walky-talky) and Daniel Beddingfield getting his belly out and filling it up with an ice-cream.

And, of course, we couldn't forget Usher. What was he up to, you ask? WELL, first he ordered a beer, then he drank a beer, and then he stood against a tree. That boy is unstoppable.
