We have no idea why, but the David Hasselhoff visited an Austrian camp for abused animals yesterday. And the photographic outcome was quite something...

The poor creatures were subjected to more torment and misuse by the Hoff, whose attempts to cheer them up with a sympathetic smile were more frightening than heart-warming.

The gallery is short and sweet, but you can't miss:

1. The Hoff chilling on top of a cow.
2. The Hoff cradling a terrified dog.
3. The Hoff planting a kiss on a horse clearly embarrassed by the cameras.
4. The Hoff sporting a hearty smile as the dog screams for its life.
