Denise Von Teese
Tue, 22/02/2011 - 01:10 by HM writer

After losing almost a stone on Dancing On Ice, Denise Welch has celebrated by stripping into something a little more comfortable, and possibly on loan from Carol McGriffin, for this week's Closer magazine. Dita Von Teese who?

And on rumours that she and Alex Reid were recently sent packing after attempting to get into a Brits afterparty, she told the magazine:

"I heard rumours that I’d been turned away from the Brits. But it’s not entirely true – I had a ticket for me and one other person and then I went to see my son Matthew’s band play in east London.

"After that I tried to get 27 other people into the Brits, but they weren’t having it!”

The mental party animal. And on the sexy snaps for Closer, Denise said:

"I do feel sexy. That doesn’t mean I don’t feel sexy when I’m bigger, but I’m getting a lot of attention at the moment. I’ve gone from 10st 5lbs to 8st 12lbs – and if I was ever going to do a photo shoot in my underwear, it would be now.”

She added:

"I’ve lost weight mainly from having very little time to eat, and because I’m working so hard. It’s been the most dramatic weight loss of my life! I still pull my old fat jeans out of the wardrobe and look at them and I do think about my figure because TV makes you look huge  – I’ve still got a very round face. But that works in my favour because it doesn’t show the effects of all those late nights!”

Like this classic night out!

The full feature appears in this week's Closer magazine, on sale now (Tuesday).

  • How fucking pathetic is she...."actually I didn't get turned away from the Brits, I'm just so popular that I had to bring my gang of young friends with me and "the man" (doorstaff) wanted to kill our buzz so we just went off and did crazy young people stuff somewhere else"

More desparate than Steve Jobs in a kidney raffle

  • Actually it's very useful for me. I now know to avoid the staff room at lunchtime for the next three days whilst the lambrusco ladies wang on about "oooh, that awful Katie Price!" and "ooooh that lovely Cheryl Cole!" and then try to one-up each other about how they, too, would totally do a burlesque photoshoot. Seriously, you should've heard the cackling horde when Lorraine Kelly did her knickers shoot. I honestly thought I was going to be 'treated' to a competitive middle-aged striptease. BLARG.
