DJ AM aka Adam Goldstein has been found dead in his New York apartment after an alleged overdose. The 36-year-old, who miraculously survived a plane crash with Blink 182's Travis Barker last year, was reportedly found "face down" in his bed by police...

Goldstein, a former member of Crazy Town who famously dated Nicole Richie and Mandy Moore, had recently admitted that he tried to commit suicide when he was 24 while high on crack cocaine.

A police source said:

"He was found in his bedroom, in bed, face down."

His rep has released the following statement:

"Adam 'DJ AM' Goldstein was found deceased this afternoon in his New York City apartment. The circumstances surrounding his death are unclear. Out of respect for his family and loved ones, please respect their privacy at this time."

His death comes almost a year after he and Barker survived when the Learjet they were flying in burst into flames. They both suffered severe burns and the four other people in the plane died.

And as always, in time of tragedy, celebrities have taken to their Twitter pages to Tweet messages of condolences.
