Search the words 'DJ Ironik' into Twitter and you would not be mistaken for thinking the rapper was dead. But contrary to popular belief - or more a morbid game of Chinese Whispers - he is very much alive... although he may have a nasty gash on his left arse cheek.

We broke the news yesterday morning that the country's much-loved grime artist, DJ Ironik, had been stabbed following a gig in Southend. And his people later confirmed that he was recovering in hospital after a mugging incident, announcing:

"Ironik was attacked and stabbed in the early hours of Saturday morning during an attempted robbery whilst returning to his home in North London. He was stabbed in his upper leg, taken to hospital and is currently being treated. He is understandably shaken up by this unprovoked attack."

But what we didn't realise at the time was that, by "upper leg", they actually meant his left buttock - confirmed for us later by a police spokesperson.

They also informed the public that, as well as removing his ability to sit down for a good few months, the thugs also attempted to steal a number of items of jewellery - which were later recovered by the police.

The robbers really made an arse of this one, didn't they?
