He won't be your father figure

We feel a bit bad for snarking at George Michael's funny robot voice on the Comic Relief single now. The interview he gave on Radio 2's Chris Evans Breakfast show this Tuesday morning is a bit upsetting.

After Chris and George had talked about the new album (we'll still keep hoping for something amazing) the chat turned to his personal life. Here's the conversation that followed:

CE: Would you ever have children yourself?

GM: No, can you imagine? No, thank god I didn't. Can you imagine being George Michael's son at school?

CE: Well someone is Elton's son at school!

GM: I don't think he's quite as embarrassing as George Michael.

How sad is that? Does George really think that it would be embarrassing to have him as a dad? That's awful. No one should think that about themselves. And if it's true then it's not because you used to be in Wham!, it's because you had a habit of getting stoned and crashing your car (slowly) and being caught with men in the woods. And we've all made mistakes. It's no reason not to have kids. I mean, look at Kerry Katona. Hmm... bad example.
