Ricky Gervais - he wasn't "carpeted"
Stop the globe!
Tue, 18/01/2011 - 13:08 by Harry BowDespite claims that the show's host was dragged off for a disciplining, both Ricky Gervais and the Golden Globes organisers have spoken out to say no one was gagged at the award ceremony (not onstage anyway, probably a bit after dinner in the bathroom though)...
After he got the entire Golden Globes audience pissed (in the US sense) on Sunday night, there was a rumour (started by Piers Morgan, in fact) that Ricky Gervais had been dragged off by the event's organisers and was "carpeted" (eh?).
According to Gervais, though, this wasn't the case - he's just told New York Daily News:
"I did every single introduction I was meant to. There just happened to be a long gap.
'This is because I was allowed to choose who I would introduce in advance. I obviously chose presenters who I had the best jokes for. (And who I knew had a good sense of humour). Everyone took it well and the atmosphere backstage and at the after show was great."
"Some of the things he said were totally unacceptable.
"He definitely crossed the line. And some of the things were totally unacceptable. But that's Ricky. Any of the references to individuals is certainly not something the Hollywood Foreign Press condones."
Most importantly, though, P.Diddy has just added his thoughts on the "controversy", saying:
"I really enjoyed it. He did an excellent job."
Phew, that's all that really matters, isn't it?

I say good on Gervais, for too long he's been acting like a fucking hollywood-ised prima donna telling all and sundry how great all the "people" are that he's working with. He seemed to have forgotten that his popularity was forged out of him being a cunt and saying inaproporiate things......frankly he had become dull.
Now I'm not saying that he has fully reprieved himself with this stunt but fuck it's great seeing those spazzy american cunts, who are so used to everyone tonguing their arseholes at these cermonies, getting rinsed by Gervais.
