Good lord, Lindsay Lohan really has changed - it was her own premiere on her first day out of rehab and she managed to avoid landing another DUI, mainly because she stayed in for the night. And talking of eye-stopping driving, Jessica Alba arrived on the red carpet in a customized low-rider far more interesting than her...

As previously mentioned, Robert Rodriguez's b-movie that could actually be good Machete has a rather interesing cast - Robert De Niro, the pilot from Lost, Michelle Rodriguez (no relation), Jessica Alba, Don Johnson, Danny Trejo and Steven Segal. At one point it was reported that Lohan's scenes (as a slutty nun) been dropped post-production, but that ended up not to be true. In fact, talking on the red carpet last night, Alba said:

"She [Lohan] is so good in this movie. I can't wait for people to see [her in] it."

Meanwhile, Mr Rodriguez added:

"She's awesome in the movie. That's what they [viewers] will see: the actress behind all that paparazzi nonsense that follows her and won't leave her alone. They'll get to see her and say, 'Oh, that's why we follow her around.' "

And he wouldn't be biased.

If you recognise the lead, Danny Trejo, it's probably because he's the dude whose head ends up on a tortoise in Breaking Bad. Not type-cast as the scary Mexican then.
