War of the words..
Mon, 12/10/2009 - 11:46 by HM writer

It seems Katie Holmes is not so much a brainwashed Stepford Wife/some sort of attractive robot, as she's enrolling daughter Suri into a Catholic school, despite husband Tom Cruise's reported protestations at wanting their daughter to be raised as a Scientologist...

Holmes has instead been listening to her mother, a devout Catholic, who even arrived in Boston for Suri's first week at the Catholic pre-school, Catholic Charities Yawkey Centre For Early Education And Learning in Massachusetts (just in case). And she hasn't gone missing or anything since...

And apparently Holmes, who is in Boston while Cruise films new spy comedy with Cameron Diaz, 'Witicha', has not been seen at the church of Scientology for about five months, although Cruise, who converted to the 'religion' from Catholicism in the 90s, remains an ardent follower.

A source said:

"Katie has been listening to her parents who are devout Catholics. She has told Tom that she wants Suri to be educated as a Catholic, as she was. They had been having huge problems agreeing on her school. To say they were having arguments is putting it mildly, but Tom came around to the idea in the end."

For now...

  • It's a good thing that they agreed what type of education is the best for their daughter. A Catholic school is much more serious than a Scientologist one and maybe this could be a better career training in the future. I hope that they will not argue about that anymore.

  • As far as I understand Scientology accepts someone if they believe in god or not, I am sure the daughter going to a catholic school will not mean that Tom Cruise has lost his daughter. She should have free choice and follow her mothers wishes for now and be allowed to make faith based decisions when she is older. The kingdom of heaven exists for everyone no matter what religion they choose to be a member of.

  • With any luck, a bit of Catholic schooling will leave her so immersed in self-loathing that we won't have to tolerate her doing a Geldof and being FUCKING EVERYWHERE when she hits 16.

  • The head bitches in charge at Scientology land have always claimed that Scientology is compatable with other religions such as Catholicism. Hurrah for Katie for sticking to her guns.

However, in that first pic she looks like a patient in palliative care. Perhaps that was the trade-off? Suri gets to be Catholic, but Katie gets to have cancer.
