Katie Price is always busy, usually coming up with something designed specifically to irritate anyone who isn't a fourteen year old girl. She's like the exact reverse of a teenage Bernard Manning.

Knowing this, those clever folk at the Today programme have decided to take her on as a guest editor. While they say the lineup's not actually confirmed, it's a bit of a strange move on their part to associate themselves with Dirty Britches in order to get new listeners, especially since they'll only be tuning in in the hope she fails catastrophically. After all, we are a nation run almost entirely on schadenfreude.

Anyway, here's what a mysterious BBC journalist had to say about the decision to put KP in the same position as P.D. James, Stephen Hawking and Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams: 

'It is showing a certain contempt for the audience. They are quite a high-brow lot.  What are they trying to say - 'we are all hip and trendy'? It is part of this whole celebrity-chasing process that has been going on for ages.'

So there you go, Virgin Media. Putting Katie Price on shows a certain contempt for your audience.

Still, at least certainly seems to be preparing for it.
