As we reported late last year, Katie Price complained to Ofcom after Frankie Boyle made a joke about her disabled son Harvey on his show, Tramadol Nights. When asked about it, Channel 4 insisted that it was actually a joke about her and not about Harvey, which is fine.

In the interest of clarity we've decided to put both the jokes up here for you to make your own decision...

‘I have a theory that Katie Price married a cage fighter because she needed someone strong enough to stop Harvey from fucking her.’

In the second, Boyle made a joke about Price and Andre's divorce saying:

‘they are fighting over Harvey. Eventually one of them will lose and have to keep him’

Pretty edgy stuff eh? Anyway, as the story goes on, Price then complained to Ofcom, who upheld the complaint but didn't ask Channel 4 to take any action, which was pretty much the same as waving a red flag at a bull as far as Price was concerned, so she (read: legal team) wrote to Channel 4 demanding an apology, which they initially resisted, but then gave into.

Now, despite having recieved a personal apology from Channel 4 Chief Executive David Abraham, in which he said:

"I appreciate the very personal perspective to your letter and I would like to reassure you that we never set out to offend or cause distress to your son."

"As we made clear in our submission to Ofcom, our detailed internal commissioning process meant that we were satisfied that you, and not your son, were the object of the satire."

Price is still furious, demanding Abraham's sacking by Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt. As of yet, no action has been taken, but Hunt's office issued the following statement just before Abraham's apology:

Jeremy is extremely disappointed Channel 4 have not apologised. The comments went way beyond what is acceptable and have caused unnecessary offence to Miss Price and her family

Whether they're still 'disappointed' we have no idea, so all we can really take from this situation is that Dwight Yorke is still causing trouble, even now.

BTW I used to be friends with a girl who did the same, then complained when her kid was born with one eye. She tried to palm him off on a rich man who actually had one eye and told the kid's dad that he wasn't his dad, then complained again when the dad went mental. Then she lied to a therapist about the whole thing and how she was 'the real victim here' which always helps. Not that I don't respect the silly selfish bitch or anything, but I've seen this sort of shit close up and it's not very nice. Consider my spleen vented.

I feel sorry for that poor bastard. Both parents are shit; his dickhead mother didn't realise that yes, getting pissed up and coked up whilst pregnant attacks the babie's eye/brain development first, and his dad is presumed missing (or on Monday Night Football or something), but likes to pop his head out whenever Gordon gets divorced.
They're both fucking idiots who have failed their own child, it's disgusting.
As far as Frankie Boyle is concerned, yes the jokes were in poor taste (and shit), but I really don't think he's the main issue.

Before the poor sod was born, he was already being used by this cunt for her own publicity whoring. So no sympathy for her. And as far as the jokes were concerned, they're shit. But she set her own kid up for all this. On so many levels and in so many ways. And yes, where the fuck are the social workers?

It's not an apology. You can tell that it's not an apology by the notable absence of words like "apologise" and "sorry", and even the more mealy-mouthed apology-lite "regret". It's basically a statement about why C4 will not apologise.

Had she not wheeled out poor little Hervey to earn money from the likes of OK, Hello and the rest, in descending order, and to make her out to be "da bestest mum in da wurld" when she likely as not was the cause of his disability in the first place, boozing and coking her way through her pregnancy, then I might concede that she has a point.
But she has ruthlessly exploited her children for fame and money so she deserves what she gets.
I am not a fan of Frankie Boyle, I think he is crass, but no less crass than she.
One plus for her kids, this episode has probably prompted her to keep them out of the public eye.
One minus for them, social services have still not intervened and placed them with someone who actually cares.
