In perhaps the very least surprising news of the day (and this comes in a day when the Alexandra Burke/Peter Andre rumours were denied), it looks like Jack Bauer might have actually pulled through that nasty bio-agent contamination. Whatta guy.

Sorry for the spoiler if you've not yet watched Day 7, but it really was pretty inevitable...

So, it looks like Kim might have FINALLY done something useful in her life, eh? Not that her dad looks too happy to be alive... Still, we're glad that Bauer manages to get a breather in the new series, sitting on the pavement chugging a cig having previously never even been to the lav.

Apparently filming for the latest series started earlier than normal so they could wrap things before the first episode airs in January (17th!), possibly to avoid a mid-series shutdown should Sutherland get locked up again, but also to enable time to move between LA and New York, where the action will be mostly happening. That's not the only change though; Mr Buffy, AKA Freddie Prinze Jr, has joined the cast, playing an ex-Marine who wants to follow in Bauer's footsteps (death wish - the last guy who did that had his hand chopped off). Another newcomer is Slumdog's Anil Kapoor, who's playing a Middle Eastern leader who comes to the US on a peacemaking mission.

Meanwhile, Chloe O'Brian, Renee Walker and President Taylor are due back - and we wouldn't be surprised if Almeida showed up again, along with a few other surprises (hopefully not Kim, please).
