If only Lily Allen had flashed her tits a bit more over the last 12 months, she might have taken home the Hottest Woman gongs at the Smash Hits NME Awards last night...

... Instead it went to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Karen O, although she was unable to pick up the coveted prize in person due to other priorities (making a cup of tea/applying lipstick/recording music).

And to further add to the disappointment, Lily's close friend Matt Bellamy picked up the prize for Hottest Male, although presumably only because the singer's boyfriend Sam Cooper wasn't eligible for nomination.

Hopefully Lily will fare better in the category at the upcoming Cross-stitch Monthly Magazine Awards, where fellow nominees are predicted to include Tanya Macintosh, Vanessa Feltz and Claire Sweeney.
