Lily Allen (performing here at Bestival but dressed for the Abba tribute concert) has claimed that she's ready to hang up her mic and try something new, like acting. If only she had connections in the acting world...

Lily said backstage at the Isle of Wight festival:

"I'm not going to record and tour again for quite a while. I finish up my gig dates in March and I'll be ready to do something else.

"I'm struggling, so I'm going to try something new."

Lily Allen will debut in the play 'Reason's To Be Pretty' written and to be directed by Neil LaBute.

She added:

"The play is about themes close to my heart, things I touch on in my track The Fear, about the really damaging cult of beauty among young girls. They want me to play the lead, which is amazing and terrifying.

"There's a lady from RADA coming round to my house to train me up a bit. I'm always up for a new challenge."

Wow, she's being taught to act and everything. Just like those who go to college and actually want to break into the profession...

"My dad's always threatening to embarrass me by making a comeback in music, so I'm hardly treading on his toes breaking into acting."

And as for the attempts to go into acting,don't bother,you help the theatre alot more if you stand in the foyer with a slot in your forehead rasing money for scope.
