Kevin McGee found dead

Matt Lucas' former husband Kevin McGee was found hanged in his home in Edinburgh after allegedly leaving a message alluding to suicide on Facebook...

Matt Lucas married McGee in 2006 but the pair separated 10 months ago. Sources claim that McGee, who was 32, had a history of drug abuse which finally caused the breakdown of their marriage.

McGee's status on Facebook read:

"Kevin McGee thinks that death is much better than life."

Concerned friends contacted police after reading the message, who then broke into his home in Bruntsfield, Edinburgh to find him dead.

Lucas is said to be "utterly destroyed" and is currently being consoled by friends including David Walliams.

Another source added:

"He always loved Kevin despite their differences and their difficult marriage."

  • Because it was either massively insensitive or was a reply to one that was massively insensitive.

  • Were they actually legally married? Perhaps the paper was just being cautious. Like the use of "alleged" when describing someone who has probably done something but hasn't been convicted. The mainstream media has to keep the bedwetters happy.

  • Loved the way The Sun descibed him this morning as Matt Lucas's "husband" (their quotation marks), thereby making a not-too-subtle point about the editorial view of gay marriages.

Not that I'm condoning them Or condeming them. Is that enough political correctness?
