Mischa Barton was looking slightly off her face in New York City yesterday afternoon but fret not, as this time it was all in the name of art and the actress was busy playing the role of a drug addicted supermodel for upcoming TV series, The Beautiful Life...

The 23-year-old was only discharged from a psychiatric ward at Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre last month after reports of a three-day drug binge. Barton had called police to her Hollywood home to assist her with a "medical issue" and was later placed under psychiatric hold.

But she returned back to filming not long after leaving the hospital and friends are worried that she has taken on too much.

Meanwhile a family friend Eric Ziegenbein has accused the star of partying just days after her she left the psychiatric ward, adding:

It's scary to see her out right after she's received treatment. When I found out she'd been partying again, I was shocked. I thought she would chill out for a bit. The fact she was out right away proves she's not taking things seriously enough.

Well at least she's not looking like this anymore...
