The usual spate of pre-Oscar parties have started in the build-up to Sunday's ceremony - which category is it that Jessica Alba and Lady Victoria Hervey are nominated in again?

Since voting for the Academy Awards has now closed, all networking is a bit pointless, which might explain why the nominees were largely absent from the various pre-ceremony parties happening last night. James Cameron was an exception though, turning up at something called 'The Global Green Pre-Oscar Party' alongside Slash, Mel B, Lady Victoria Hervey, Nicole Scherzinger, Jessica Alba and her husband Cash Warren, who was recently attached to Lindsay Lohan, but looks more like Cheryl Cole's type. Talking of LiLo's rumoured shags, Gerard Butler, Hayden Panettiere, Sofia Viagra and Stephen Dorff (dressed up as real Academy winner Mickey Rourke) were at another pre-award party at the Chateau Marmont.

Not one Oscar statue lined-up between them. Hopefully in the case of Cameron anyway.
